ZOOMTECH® was developed by BEMATECH — a family company with more than 30 years of experience in custom interior shading systems.
The original problem was straightforward: as architectural projects demanded ever-larger glass surfaces, conventional roller blind tubes began to sag under their own weight. The result — visible V-shaped fabric deformation — was a compromise that architects, homeowners and the industry accepted simply because no better solution existed.
After years of development, failed prototypes and close collaboration with engineering specialists, BEMATECH arrived at a scalable solution: a prestressed reinforcement tube combined with a gravity compensation mechanism — now protected by worldwide patents and commercialised as ZOOMTECH®.

ZOOMTECH® matured from a single-project solution into a scalable platform with the introduction of ZOOMBOX — a production machine that enables certified fabricators anywhere in the world to produce ZOOMTECH® systems locally. Invention of ZOOMTECH®
The story of ZOOMTECH® begins with a groundbreaking invention in 2018 by Bernard Mullie and Petr Klimeš, co-inventors of ZOOMTECH®. This revolutionary technology was designed to prevent roller blinds from bending and to eliminate fabric deformation in large widths while using a very minimalistic winding tube, making it both efficient and sleek. It was a game-changer for the interior sun shading industry, paving the way for a new era of quality, versatility and efficiency.

Worldwide patent
Following the successful invention of ZOOMTECH® technology, the next milestone was obtaining a worldwide patent. This achievement cemented the importance and uniqueness of the technology, establishing it as a truly innovative and valuable contribution to the industry. Thanks to ZOOMTECH® technology, it is now possible to produce minimalistic, subtle roller blinds with no V-effect, suitable for any interior.

ZOOMTECH Academy
Together with ZOOMTECH®, the ZOOMTECH Academy was created, consisting of a team of academic scientists and engineers who are responsible for the development of the ZOOMBOX. We actively support our producers by developing together, protecting their efforts and interests and helping to extend the market. The concept is becoming widely known and there is a booming demand for the best and only solution for bending tubes to perfect the look of roller blinds.

ZOOMBOX
In 2021, ZOOMTECH® developers continued to push the boundaries of innovation with the development of ZOOMBOX. This algorithmic generator enables the company to support partners online in the production of roller blind systems with embedded ZOOMTECH® technology, which can be incorporated right into the partner's original systems.

Licensed partners
In 2022, some of the first ZOOMTECH® licensed partners were able to offer their customers the benefits of this innovative technology and work with the ZOOMBOX machine. These partners were carefully selected and trained to ensure the highest level of quality and service all over the world. They now have a unique solution for their customers and the perfect opportunity to become part of the revolution in the sun shading industry.

New possibilities
Looking towards the future, the ZOOMTECH® team is exploring new possibilities and broadening the spectrum of use for the technology — from interior roller blinds to other home applications such as projection screens, and on to exterior screens, roller gates, pergolas and awnings. The ZOOMTECH® team is committed to continuing to innovate and push the boundaries of what is possible, offering customers and partners unparalleled quality, performance and value.

R+T Gold Award and system adaptation
ZOOMTECH® receives the prestigious Gold Award at the R+T Innovation Awards 2024 — one of the most respected international recognitions in the global shading industry, confirming the technology's position as a category breakthrough. The same year, the technology is adapted for integration into up to twenty different roller blind systems, so partners can embed ZOOMTECH® into the profiles and hardware they already produce.

Global expansion and horizontal systems
Technology commercially available across Europe, Asia and North America through licensed partners, with formats up to 10 metres and a wide choice of fabrics and drive systems. Development also moves beyond vertical applications: work begins on integrating ZOOMTECH® into horizontal systems and on dedicated solutions for ceiling and overhead glazing, including inclined applications.

SplitRoll and the 105 mm cassette
BEMATECH develops SplitRoll, a patent-pending solution that simplifies the transport and installation of large-format roller blinds. The reinforcement, and where required the winding tube, can be divided into transportable sections, so that exceptionally large systems pass through standard access routes and are assembled directly on site. Once assembled, SplitRoll retains the appearance and zero-deflection performance of a one-piece ZOOMTECH® system. It will be introduced at R+T 2027. In parallel, the 105 mm cassette is developed in combination with ZOOMTECH®, concealing large-format blinds within the building structure.
